Worms – Rainbow-colored Worms on Your Desktop
It may seem like an unusual question, but did you ever want to see rainbow-colored worms wiggling around on your desktop? I know one person who would panic at the mere mention of the word “worms” – my significant other, who was an irrational fear of worms. But if you answered “heck yeah, give me some rainbow-colored worms”, then you need to check out the appropriately named application Worms.
Worms is a Windows screensaver developed by Lucian Wischik who describes the application as “a can of gloriously coloured worms erupts from the center of your screen.” That’s what happens after you download and install the application on your Windows-powered computer – you will see worms, plenty of worms.
The nice thing about Worms is that it is tied in with another Lucian Wischik application, mainly ScrHots. This application turns the corners of your monitor into “hot corners”. After you’re done installing Worms on your computer, you will see an icon in the taskbar; this is the ScrHots icon. You can select the option to hide it if you want). If you move your mouse cursor to the upper left hand corner of the screen and hold it there for a few seconds, the Worms screensaver will run.
That’s the default behavior. If you want to, you can set it up so that all corners of the screen are hot. You can set it up so that Worms will run no matter which corner of the screen you choose.
You can set it up to the worms wiggle around a blank, black background, or you can set it up so the worms wiggle around your desktop. You can do so from the Settings menu, by unchecking the “erase background” option.
Worms is offered free of charge by its developer. You can use it for as long as you want and not part with your heard earned money.
